Problematic is slang for “this thing is not just awkward, it’s morally questionable or harmful,” like a joke, creator, brand, or statement that people feel needs calling out. It also gets used as a vague catch all where someone is basically saying “red flag alert,” sometimes without even spelling out the actual issue.
