A red flag is a warning sign, like something that hints a person or situation might be unsafe, unstable, manipulative, or straight up bad news later. People use it a lot in dating, meaning “don’t ignore this behavior because you’ll probably regret it.” Light roast, but if you hear “it’s just a red flag,” it’s usually code for, “we all saw the problem, you just didn’t want to admit it yet.”
