Skill issue means you are losing or messing up because you lack the skill for that moment, usually said as video game trash talk or as a sarcastic “yeah, sure, it’s the game’s fault” comment. It is basically the internet’s way of saying, “Have you tried being better,” but with a smug, meme-friendly shrug. The roast is that it turns every problem into the same answer, like the person talking never met a situation that needed more than one button.
