Gaslighting means someone tries to mess with your sense of reality by lying, denying, or twisting stuff until you start doubting your own memory and judgment, like you are the problem for noticing. It got popular on the internet, but people also use it as a catch all for any argument, so sometimes it is real manipulation and sometimes it is just good old fashioned lying with extra steps.
