future faking

Future faking is when someone sells you a detailed “we will totally be together” vision, like marriage, moving in, kids, or a whole shared life, but they have no real plan or intention to follow through. It is basically using fantasy timelines to keep you emotionally hooked right now, before they have earned trust. Kind of like a movie trailer for a relationship, except the sequel never gets filmed.
