Great resignation is the name people gave to the wave of employees quitting jobs in large numbers, especially in 2021, mostly because work felt underpaid, disrespectful, or just not worth it anymore. It was basically the labor market saying, “You do not get to treat me like a replaceable part,” and then a lot of people actually walked. Like a mass un-send of your resignation email, except this time the sender shows up in real life.
