Blockchain is basically a shared spreadsheet for transactions where new entries get added in sealed “blocks” and each block is cryptographically linked to the previous one, so it is hard to edit without everyone noticing. One sharp way to think about it, people treat it like a magic trust machine, but it is really just a fancy system for keeping a public record when nobody fully trusts anybody.
